SEREN protect
To ensure that important people can rest peacefully... A disaster-ready private room that feels like a living room, even during evacuation! Perfect for telework too!
In Japan, often referred to as a disaster-prone country, we created a set of floor insulation and wall enclosures to allow those evacuated to live comfortably, like in a living room. The reality of "50 direct deaths and 200 disaster-related deaths" means that life in evacuation shelters can last up to six months. "Seren Protect" aims to preserve the dignity of those affected and prioritize their lives. The walls are designed to be at a height that can be seen from the average adult male's eye level, visible when peeking but not when simply passing by. The door has a simple lock, and the floor is insulated, providing comfort against the cold. Both the walls and floor can be wiped down and disinfected. Assembly from wall to floor is completed in just 10 minutes! No tools are required; the panels connect with interlocking shapes that simply fit together. Even without an instruction manual, the completion image is clear just by looking at it. While designed with evacuation shelters in mind, it could also be useful for creating a simple workspace at home.
